The wall color is Vintage and the trim is White Dove both by Benjamin Moore. White Dove's versatility lends a softness and warmth to this room when paired with elegant Vintage.

Now one of my favorite parts begins. This is when the room begins to feel lived in and welcoming rather than simply furnished. It's the layering of fabrics, textures, and carefully chosen accessories that transforms a bedroom into a space guests truly enjoy spending time in.

In this guest room refresh, every selection was made to complement the warm wall color while working in harmony with the existing maple wardrobe—the feature that inspired the entire color palette from the beginning.

A plush duvet cover, a cozy blanket, a throw for pattern and cooler nights, along with carefully chosen pillows will all work together to add warmth, texture, and comfort. Beyond the bed, the curtains will soften and frame the windows. Lastly, the rug will add that final layer of fabric and necessary luxury.

This collection of textiles demonstrates how a cohesive color palette doesn't rely on matching fabrics. Instead, it combines complementary tones, varied scales of pattern, and contrasting textures to create depth and interest. The soft taupe stripe of the duvet cover provides a quiet backdrop, while the orange-and-white curtain fabric and floral throw introduce warmth, movement, and personality. A plush waffle-knit pewter blanket adds comfort and subtle contrast, and the carefully selected paint colors tie every element together. The result is a layered palette that feels soothing, welcoming, and thoughtfully curated rather than overly coordinated.

While each piece may seem simple on its own, it's the mindful selection and combination of textures, patterns, and materials, that transforms a bedroom into a restful retreat.

More to come.
